Hotel Wharf – Notice of Finding of No Signicant Impact

NOTICE OF FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has announced that a "Finding of No Signicant Impact" (FONSI) has been approved based upon results of an Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared in July 2019 for the Port Authority of Guam's proposed Hotel Wharf and Access Road Maintenance and Repair Project, Cabras Island, Piti, Guam.

The proposed action would repair and improve approximately one mile of access road serving Hotel Wharf and other Cabras Island facilities; install or replace underground utilities in the access road and wharf areas; reconstruct the existing wharf and bulkhead to include a new sheet pile bulkhead; construct structural components on the wharf and road, including mooring bollards and concrete decking/pavement; and demolish the dilapidated structures, including fencing, cleats, rubber fenders, and mooring bollards, and asphalt and concrete pavement, and a portion of the concrete cap atop the existing sheet pile bulkhead.

The FONSI indicates that the proposed action is consistent with existing environmental policies and objectives as set forth in the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) in that it will not signicantly aect the quality of the human environment.
